Here are two classic paddle (: that is, with spring return instead of a magnet) that, according to telegraph a lot of different nations are competing for leadership excellence in terms of mechanical sensitivity and responsiveness to the operator's touch. A clash of titans, in fact.

really hard for me to compare how these two expressions of the excellent, but, with the utmost respect for both, I can try starting with, first, important objective data.
consider, to begin with, the factor of stability in use: il peso dei due tasti è, rispettivamente, di 1191 e 1431 g, relativamente a superfici di ingombro di circa 7,70 x 7,70 cm. per il Simplex e di 10,00 x 8,00 cm. per il Profi 2; quattro gommini d’appoggio per il primo paddle e tre per il secondo. Su di una superficie di formica opaca mi ci sono rispettivamente voluti circa 201 e 377 g di spinta esercitati su una delle due palette per spostare lateralmente ciascuno dei due paddle.
Ora vediamo la diteggiatura. Si può iniziare dicendo che il Simplex è un tasto a maggior tensione di paletta, infatti esso ha una molla di tensione di 1,40 cm per ogni leva ed una distanza paletta-fulcro di 7,0 cm, mentre il Profi 2 ha soltanto una molla di tensione di 0,40 cm (con regolazione laterale a destra, circa a parità di diametro e di distanza tra le spire) ed una distanza paletta-fulcro di 5,70 cm.. Molto significativa, secondo me, la distanza tra le palette: 1,90 cm nel Simplex, 1,30 cm nel Profi 2. Il che mi induce a pensare che Begali, con tale maggiore ampiezza, abbia voluto indurre nell’operatore una diteggiatura ad esclusivo movimento di dita per far diminuire le spinte destabilizzanti laterali, mentre Shurr abbia pensato di strizzare un occhio anche ad un certo gioco pesante di polso, tipico degli operatori provenienti dall’utilizzo di side-swiper o di single-lever key. Ciò, secondo me, spiegherebbe anche la tradizionale maggior cedevolezza, al tatto, delle palette del Profi 2 e la loro regolazione di base a movimento un po’ "Pleasantly wide" paddle for a modern, while the Simplex, basically, a fine adjustment of the contacts (tralaltro gold!) Infuriatingly close and so appropriate for a machine made to run to the sound of very slight, nervous strokes of the fingertips. The view that I did on those two products, therefore, is that the Simplex is a stamping press "race", while the second is a pleasant key Profi "walking".
