Nel Post n. 27 si è accennato al problema della ruota libera. Quest’ultima nacque, in origine, come dispositivo meccanico che permetteva di disaccoppiare il gruppo pignoni dal mozzo della ruota motrice di una Cycling, in order to give the rider the ability to stop pedaling at any time, without, thereby, immediately stops the motion of the bike (see http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruota_libera ).

Tuttavia la moto si accenderebbe perfettamente a spinta (cioè ingranando la prima dopo averle made to reach a certain speed, perhaps in a fall) and this is therefore the ultimate proof that the problem of power was due solely to the "grainy" freewheel. I, of course, does not guarantee anything on this "remedy" because I have not personally experienced, and there are no reliable statistics to confirm the full validity, despite the obvious good sense.

The onset of this defect is almost ineffable usually quite erratic, but on Dragstar 1100 that I mentioned above, it occurred to 38,000 km.
